Thomastown U21 hurlers created history by winning the U21A South Championship for the  first time in the club's history by beating Glenmore on a scoreline of 0-19 to 2-8 last Sunday in Ballyhale.

With a strong breeze slightly favouring Glenmore, the opening exchanges were very tight with the score level at three points each after 20 minutes. Thomastown then opened up a four gap with half time looming. Glenmore had been applying massive pressure on the Thomastown full back line all through the half and got their reward with a goal to reduce the deficit to one point at halftime.

Both teams traded blows for the first ten minutes of the second half, but Thomastown started to exert their dominance on the half forward line and had opened up a six point gap with ten minutes to play. Glenmore were awarded a penalty in the 52nd minute which raised the green flag. With the gap back to three points., it was game on, but in fairness to the Thomastown boys, they never panicked and they responded superbly with two more points to win the game by five points.
